Zeolite is an active ingredient in homemade pon. I read that it is able to provide essential minerals to your plants so that you don't need fertilizers or hydroponic chemicals, but I prefer not to lean solely on this. It can be used as an amendment to many different types of soil or substrate. A little goes a long way, this amendment accounts for 1/7 of my homemade pon mixture.
